Blockchain technology has numerous applications in almost all dealings with our daily transaction with government and private sectors– including improving good governance among local government units (LGUs).

This was the gist of the welcome remarks of Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia during the opening of two-day Global Blockchain Congress held September 24-25, 2024 at the Bataan People’s Center.

The Governor said the blockchain technology which is fast becoming a global trend now is already integrated in the local government system which supports the growing ecosystem, internet of things, air quality monitoring system, the transport system and Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA).

The first Blockchain Summit was also held at the Bataan People’s Center in 2022. This year’s blockchain congress was attended by professionals in the telco industry and the local youth sector. It was initiated by the Department of Information and Communication Technology.
